Synopsis

In the 1970s, an all-female football fan club named ‘Purple Violets’ played an important role in the liberation of women in a conservative society in Turkey. Fifty-two years later, four founding members reunite for one final match as their team faces dissolution and the country slips deeper into authoritarianism. Amid memories and resistance, they attend a rally of Istanbul’s mayor, Imamoğlu, who is currently imprisoned and confront deeper struggles over women's visibility in public life, as the stadium—once their sanctuary—falls into ruin.
