Melisa is a Turkish-Italian filmmaker and photographer with a BA from Tufts University and an MA in Film Studies from Istanbul Bilgi University. Since 2007, she’s written, directed and lensed a diverse slate of shorts, docs and narrative features—“Me and Nuri Bala” (Best First Doc, Antalya FF 2009), her debut “Seaburners” (Forum Berlinale & Jeonju FF), a dance-driven short in “Coastliners” (Istanbul FF 2016), and her 2nd feature “Suddenly” (Tokyo IFF 2022; Rotterdam & Vancouver IFF 2023), which earned acting honors at Ankara FF.
