Seyfettin Tokmak Seyfettin Tokmak (1978) is a Turkish director, producer, and film theorist with a versatile background in film and television education. Tokmak has also worked extensively for the benefit of children, participating in the work of the IOM to help child refugees and conducting short film courses in juvenile prison. Children are also the main characters in his refugee-themed debut feature film “Broken Mussels” (2011). Empire of the Rabbits, which has won Best Script and Best Cinematography at the Tallinn 28. Black Nights Film Festival.

Synopsis

Musa (12) lives with his father, Beko (38), in a rural town in the eastern Anatolia. Beko makes his life by providing rabbits for Greyhound races. Beko learns that if Musa gets a disability report, he can get a salary from the state. Musa is afraid of being disabled, but he is forced to begin to the school. Musa shares his dream, Empire of the Rabbits, with Nergis. Musa transformed an old mine into a nest for rescued rabbits from races and traps. Two friends set out on a dangerous adventure, which they try to rescue the rabbits and themselves.
